Dave Anderson

Songwriter

Brief info

Dave Anderson grew up with the Great American Songbook - he tried to come up with songs that sounded like the mid-50s (just before Rock’n’Roll) for The Steamie.
He’s been writing songs since he was a teenager, got into rock’n’roll, the blues, joined 7:84, touring Scotland and beyond, in the mid-70s, co-founded Wildcat doing the same in the late 70s (for 20 years!)
In recent years, he’s been turning out shows for Glasgow’s lunchtime “Play, a Pie and a Pint”, mostly mini-musicals (“Tir na nog” was awarded best New Musical at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2007), as well as writing pantos and appearing as “dame”…
If you’re old enough, you may have seen Dave on film - (Gregory’s dad in “Gregory’s Girl”) or TV - (Adam MacLelland in BBC’s “City Lights”)
He’s currently returned to playing the blues with a trio of virtuoso bluesmen, after a hiatus following health issues, and enjoying life, thanks for asking!
